Description
This photograph of three hot air balloons was made over the Rio Grande River in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Hot air balloons are lighter-than-air aircrafts consisting of a bag, called an envelope, which contains heated air. Suspended beneath is a gondola which carries passengers.
Albuquerque is the site for the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, which is the largest hot air balloon festival in America. It occurs every year in early October.
