Description
This photograph of five flags was made at the El Camino Real Museum in New Mexico. El Camino Real (Spanish; literally The Royal Road, often translated as The King's Highway), is a 600-mile commemorative route connecting Spanish missions in California to certain ones in Mexico.
These flags flew at the El Camino Real Heritage Center, where remnants of the historic trail are still visible on the rugged prairie. The museum had exhibits and artifacts presenting the history and heritage of this famous trail, life in Mexico and New Mexico during the 1600s colonial era, and the unique history that formed the American Southwest.
