This photograph was made along the Big Bend Scenic Byway Along in Franklin County Florida. But the verse comes from 2 Timothy 1:7. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

I have been shooting pictures since high school when I purchased a used twin-lens reflex camera from a teacher. Since that time I have maintained an interest in photographing places and things. Several years ago I began writing travel articles for various magazines and newspapers. That provided the opportunity to visit many scenic and unusual places. It has made me realize how beautiful the United States, and particularly my home state of Tennessee, is. My techniques are simple. Nothing fancy. That would probably detract from the work's intended purpose. I have used several formats: 35mm, 6 x 7, and now digital. From the resulting images for art shows, I select the most appealing.
